An Insight on Efficient Airguns
Airguns are special guns used for recreational and hunting purposes like animal hunting, plinking, shooting sports, etc. They differ from other types of the guns by virtue of the fact that they use the energy stored in a compressed gas for providing thrust to the projectile in place of the traditional fuel burning methods.
The first efficient airgun came into being in the late 16th century, and the technology has been growing ever since. The types of projectiles used by airguns differ from metallic pellets to plastic projectiles. Some airguns use arrows as well. Airguns can be classified into 7 different categories based on the source they obtain power from. All these guns find different usage in different fields.
The technology and concept of the airgun has been used to manufacture shotguns, pistols and rifles as well. Many manufacturers provide excellent airguns for all kinds of shooters ranging from beginners to professional. Some of these companies are Umarex, Walther, Webley & Scott, Weihrauch, Crosman, etc. Crosman has launched a number of different series of airguns, airguns Benjamin and Sheridan being the most popular ones. Perfect for beginner and intermediate level shooters, these two series are specifically multi-stroke airguns, and hence, provide a lot of versatility to shooters!
